I. Before you search....Understand your Finances
- Have you saved for a down payment and closing costs?
- What is your credit score (FICO)?
- How much debt are you carrying?
- Secure a knowledgeable Loan Consultant who will thoroughly explain the facts about the different mortgage products available.
- Learn the advantages of loan "pre-approval"
II. Now, search for homes that fit your budget
- Ask yourself what features are most important to you in a home?
- What features are needs versus wants?
- Determine the general area where you would like to live.
- Search that area using the tools on our site or contact us to search for you.
III. You have found your dream home – Now make the offer
IV. The offer is accepted - you have a contract!
- Schedule a home inspection
- Negotiate any repairs as a result of the home inspection (if required)
- Schedule the closing
- Order the appraisal and property survey
- Conduct a final walk-through
- Provide a certified or cashiers check for the closing cost and down payment
- Take possession and move-in.
